Located in Martin County about 40 miles north of West Palm Beach, Jensen Beach is considered by many a classic Old Florida beach town. The small beautiful community is home to over 11,000 residents, and boasts the highest point of land on Florida’s east coast, which gives way to the seasonal sea turtle nests. So much so that the main public beach is uniquely called the Jensen Sea Turtle Beach located on Hutchinson Island.
Jensen Beach real estate borders the Indian River and in fact was awarded and named the one of the “Top Places to Retire” in the state of Florida. Even so, the residents consist of young, single residents, seniors and families with school-aged children. Most of the residents live in homes that were constructed in the 1970’s up to the late 1990’s, with few of the homes being built before this era. Its historic downtown district plays host to “Jammin’ Jensen,” a weekly Thursday night block party featuring local street vendors, art galleries and entertainment. On top of that, the quaint downtown is full of outdoor cafes and unique boutiques and galleries.
